Does Your Project Qualify for Federal Lands Access Program Funding?
The Federal Lands Access Program (FLAP) is accepting grant applications now through August 29, 2025, for projects that improve safe and equitable access to and through federal lands. FLAP offers a 0% local match incentive to support transportation projects that improve access to federal lands, including trails, on-street bike/ped infrastructure, and transit systems. Eligible applicants include state, county, tribal, and city government agencies, and Go Georgia encourages communities with federal lands to consider FLAP funding for bike/walk/roll projects.

Gravel Riding in Georgia
Gravel biking has become increasingly popular over the last few years, and for good reason! Gravel roads offer a biking experience that is typically quiet, closer to nature, and free from the stress of heavy car traffic, and they’re great places to ride in communities that don’t yet have dedicated bicycle infrastructure. Gravel can even be a viable commuting option in some places, and serve as a draw for outdoor recreation tourism. These are some of the many reasons why more and more bicyclists are opting off the beaten path, and why more communities should embrace gravel riding.

Go Georgia (formerly Georgia Bikes) Announces 2025 Grant Award from Governor’s Office of Highway Safety
‍Go Georgia (formerly Georgia Bikes), the statewide nonprofit advancing safe, equitable, and sustainable transportation and recreation, is pleased to announce that it has been selected as the recipient of a grant by the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) with funds from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The grant award, totaling $150,530.28, will fund Go Georgia’s statewide educational programs.
