Go Georgia is pleased to share that two important funding opportunities from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources are opening this fall: the Georgia Outdoor Stewardship Program (GOSP) and the Recreational Trails Program (RTP).
GOSP supports the acquisition, development, and stewardship of parks, natural areas, and trails. Eligible applicants include local governments, recreation authorities, state agencies, and nongovernmental entities.
RTP provides funding for the construction, renovation, and maintenance of motorized and non-motorized recreational trails. Eligible applicants include local governments, authorized commissions, and state and federal agencies.
Through our Grants Assistance Program (GAP), Go Georgia offers technical assistance to communities and organizations seeking to apply for state and federal active transportation and recreation grants. Our team provides customized support with grant strategy, project scoping, and navigating application requirements.
In advance of the GOSP and RTP application deadlines, Go Georgia will host a virtual office hours session with representatives from both grant programs, offering interested communities the opportunity to ask project-specific questions, receive guidance, and better understand the application process. Informational webinars for each program are available on the aforementioned websites; please participate in the appropriate webinar(s) before attending office hours.
If you are interested in participating or would like to receive updates, please register here. If you have any questions or need any help, please contact us at grants@go-georgia.org. We look forward to supporting communities across Georgia as they pursue critical investments in safe outdoor recreation and active transportation.
